Federal Units in North Carolina

Cape Hatteras National Seashore
Park Service rangers have issued occasional tickets for nudity in 2007 at the beach in the traditional clothing-optional area at Ocracoke. The Naturist Action Committee is working on this issue with Seahore management and with Friends of Ocracoke Beach, the local naturist user group.

Rangers have also given citations for nudity at Nags Head.

Legislature

Following a major rewrite of the state's indecent exposure law two years ago, state lawmakers have been relatively quiet on issues affectin naturists.

The North Carolina legislature meet from May 13, 2008 through July 25, 2008. Bills from 2007 DO CARRY OVER to the 2008 session.

The NAC board member responsible for North Carolina is Bob Morton.
